Preserving the Incident Scene - CA

This course is in compliance with the Business and Professions Code Sections 7583.6 and 7583.7 and Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations. This is an elective course under the BSIS Course Outline and satis?es the requirement for 4 hours of training under the elective section of the Security Of?cer Training Laws and Regulations.

Security officers must understand their role and responsibilities as they relate to crime scene investigation. They must recognize the protocols of preserving the incident scene as well as following the order of crime scene investigation. They must know how investigators properly document crime scenes and handle sensitive evidence material. Knowing the proper procedures for preserving the incident scene will help prevent errors and most importantly keep criminals off the streets. This course is designed to guide security officers in recognizing their responsibilities when dealing with crime scenes, following specific guidelines, and reporting crime scene procedures.
